Blessing of the Animals

Yesterday, I attended the Long Beach Interfaith Blessing of the Animals.  This year, it was located at the beach at sunset.  Every year, members of the clergy gather to bless all the animals with olive branches and holy water.
There were all sort of animals at the event:  sheep, goats, chickens. rabbits, horses and even an alpaca.  And of course there were kitties and lots of doggies there.  Check out the alpaca.  His name is Peanut.
Here I am with daddy as we walk the red carpet for the blessing.
There were clergy members from many different churches and religions.
Look!  It's me waiting for my turn to be blessed!
Finally!  Made it to the front of the line!  Here I am being blessed by two priests.
What a fun day!
